OUR BEEF

BLACK ANGUS

At Fork & Tiller, we raise Black Angus cattle - a calm, resilient breed known for natural marbling and exceptional flavour. Our herd spends its life on pasture, grazing native grasses and seasonal forage, with hay made on‑farm as a simple, natural supplement during dry months.

Hay is cut early, while the plant is still full of sap and nutrition. It’s worlds apart from grain. Our cattle stay on a forage‑based diet from start to finish, because cattle are browsers by nature — not grain eaters.

Regenerative grazing that puts animals & land first

We use cell grazing, moving cattle through small paddocks with tree‑lined boundaries. They shift calmly and willingly, often waiting at the gate when we call them. This rotation keeps pastures fresh, reduces parasite pressure and gives the land time to rest and regenerate.

Our farm is also home to thriving dung beetle populations — tiny ecological workers that break down manure, return nutrients to the soil and improve pasture health.

Animal welfare

Our cattle are raised with dignity from day one. Calves stay with their mothers for at least seven months, growing in a calm, low‑stress environment that supports natural behaviour and strong immune systems. When the time comes, we transport them ourselves to a small private abattoir, ensuring their final moments are handled with care and respect.

Soil welfare

Healthy soil is the foundation of our farm. Through cell grazing, long rest periods and maintaining tree‑lined paddocks, we protect soil structure, encourage deep‑rooted perennial grasses and support biodiversity. Dung beetles return nutrients to the earth and improve water infiltration — tiny workers doing big ecological jobs.

Together, these practices create a farming system where animals thrive, soil regenerates and the land becomes more resilient year after year.

Our biodynamic & organic foundations

The principles that shaped Triple B Biodynamic Beef continue to guide us today — caring for soil as a living organism, working with natural rhythms and farming in a way that strengthens the land over time.
